Prior to graduate school, Nate was a band leader and musician in the HALCats, a show band aboard the Holland America Line cruise ships, traveling to over 80 countries and all seven continents. There, he performed with Clem Curtis of the Foundations ("Buld Me Up Buttercup") and broadway star Lorna Luft.
Nate also has several years of music industry experience working as an ensemble and tour manager, concert producer, and booking agent in training. He has worked for the Oberlin College and Conservatory, the Eastern Music Festival, and Universal Attractions, with artists including Hilary Hahn, The Canadian Brass, Bruce Hornsby, Mavis Staples (The Staples Singers), and Aimee Mann.
Nate graduated in 2008 with a BA in Music Performance from the Oberlin College Conservatory. After college, Nate was the music director and curriculum designer of the Rockstarz Clinic, a touring music instruction program.
